Diversity, Equity & Cultural Inclusion
By uplifting diverse voices and perspectives, we strengthen the cultural fabric of our community
1. Commitment Statement
Magnum Opus Studio believes that the arts thrive when diverse voices, experiences, and perspectives are represented and celebrated. Our work is rooted in the belief that creative spaces should reflect the communities they serve.
As a minority-owned and majority women-owned creative organization, Magnum Opus is committed to advancing cultural equity by supporting artists from historically underrepresented communities and ensuring that our programming remains inclusive and accessible.
2. Community-Centered Programming
Programs that support equity include:
Her’Story — elevating women’s voices and storytelling
Mancave — space for dialogue, creativity, and community among men
2nd Saturday Open Arts — marketplace supporting local artists and small creative businesses
Tiny Sets Creative Lab — mentorship and portfolio development for emerging photographers and videographers
These programs provide paid opportunities and creative platforms for artists at different stages of their careers.
3. Artist Equity
Magnum Opus prioritizes:
Fair artist compensation
Opportunities for emerging creatives
Open calls for participation
Community partnerships supporting local artists
Our goal is to create pathways for artists who may face barriers to traditional arts institutions.
4. Community Partnerships
Magnum Opus collaborates with The Collective, a network of local businesses supporting arts and culture in Jersey City:
